Junt@s: Preventing Violence Against Women

Junt@s CNT is an Android application that aims to prevent violence against women by providing them with information and functionalities that help victims, their surroundings, and aggressors break the cycle of violence and seek help. The main feature of the app is the ability to send text messages (SMS) to Emergency Contacts previously registered in the app. This allows users to send their location to their contacts when they need help, and in turn, receive support. The app requests permission to access the user's phonebook to register emergency contacts, their location to send SMS messages with their location, and to send text messages to notify the contact that they were added as an emergency contact. The app also has informative functionalities such as "About Junt@s" and "What can I do?" which contain suggestions for women, men, and friends or family members on how to act in situations of violence against women. Furthermore, the app features "Search for Support," providing numbers for shelters and comprehensive protection services for victims. The app also has "Testimonies," featuring a woman's testimony of overcoming violence, and "Violence Test," which includes three types of tests to help people identify whether they are experiencing violence, being violent, or in relationships with emotional dependence, and to seek help.
